A relative has suggested that they'd like a headcam to use while cycling. Knowing nothing about the subject I Googled the only name I know which is Gopro. After I got back up off the floor I started to wonder if there are actually decent cheap alternatives. So I came here to ask the folk who know....

I have been using an Apeman purchased from Amazon this week. I am struggling to see any downsides when comparing the footage with my genuine GoPro that was also in use in the same setting

SJCam here - 2 M10's and an M20 - the M10's can be got quite cheap at about £30 and the M20 is about £90 and very good.

ION and Rollie is what i use, loads on amazon, look for run time and waterproof, best fixed to handlebars, helmet mounts are a pain, as they snap off in contact with low trees or doorways.

Cylinder ones are lower profile as well.

I bought a DBPower EX5000 from Amazon. It is a copy of an earlier GoPro, with a WiFi link. I have been impressed for something bought on a whim for under £30.

I saw the morrisons one today too. £40. Looks like a go pro. Wifi, screen, 4k ultra HD. Same mounting system as a go pro, full waterproof case, sd card, looked a real bargain (if you wanted one)

Has anyone tried one yet?
