[#9258411]

Came across this earlier today and thought it was fantastic. Anyone else found a great cover version recently?

Sorry DezB, thought I remembered a thread but my google search did not pull up anything on first page of results.

Slowoldman. Is that an alternative cover of Leopardskin Pillbox Hat?

Led Zeppelin were amazing at that kind of re-invention! Still love them even with their notorious borrowing!

The brass version of Sexual Healing is ace!

jamj1974 I love that. A few years ago they released a few live gigs from the Phillmore on iTunes. Each night finished with three covers, Beatles, the Band, Stones etc. My favourite is the Neil Young covers. A few years ago I saw Rich Robinson in Glasgow and I think he finished with two or three Neil Young songs, best gig ever.

Heart do a fantastic version. I'm not a big fan of their own songs - but they do this a lot of justice.IIRC Plant is a big fan of Nancy & Ann, I'm sure they have done some other LZ tunes too.

Love this...

Love Thunder Road but when you get past the bombast it's a desperate story, 2 kids jumping off the world because they've got nothing else, this version just nails it (if you doubt me, listen to the Promise- "Thunder Road, we were gonna take it all then threw it all away")

Led Zeppelin > the artists they reinterpreted.

The high water mark of rock n roll (so far).

Aren't all Led Zep songs reinterpreted versions of old blues songs 😉
