I'm replacing some gravel in the garden. Do I need to wash the new gravel before spreading it? If I do need to wash it what is the easiest way?

Just a quick 30 degree mixed load wash should do it... Might be a bit noisy on the spin cycle...

If it is filthy with muck then you can put shovel some stones on some mesh that won’t let the stones through (ideally on slope).
Then hose it to wash the muck off.
Then shovel the clean stones into a wheel barrow.

Just give it a hose down in place. I've done it, works fine.
