Working from home has killed my old pair of Tesco's "buy cheap buy twice" specials, so what are you guys using?
Need to be able to withstand a quick trip to the bin or shed in the rain, not too hot, not too cold, not too sweaty, not too smelly.
What are the Goldilocks of the slipper world?
Crocs in the summer, North Face tent mules in the winter. Both will do light outdoor duty.
Flip flops
Crocs for the bin trip, Tesco or whatever you can find for £10 for inside. Bare feat in summer!
The Rolls Royce of slippers...
Sheepskin so not too hot or ever cold. No stink. Rubber sole for bin trips.

I'm several years and 2nd pair in. Mold you your feet and beautifully comfortable.
Succumbed to my first ever pair of slippers as I’ve always associated them with a time of life where I’d be drinking a cup of Horlicks in front of the Antiques Road Show waiting for the home care to arrive to change my pad and put me to bed. But after 20 years of freezing my feet off in my fridge of a home this winter Mrs Devbrix bought me a pair of Glerups slip ons and to be fair they are great but quite expensive.
Crocs - seem to be a lot less trip prone
Toms. Hands down the best pair I've ever had. Not cheap but built like they will last forever. Super comfy too
Standard Clarks slippers.
Sister manages a Clarks shop so I get mine a bit cheaper, held back from sales or her discount.
Trick with slippers is to discard them after 4-6 months.

Brilliant for winter, but warm at times in summer. Only ones I've had that don't stink to high heaven, bonus being you can remove and wash the insert.

Aldi 'crocs' definitely the business for summer. Other cheapo brands are available. 🙂
Haflinger Grizzly clogs are brilliant, I like to think of mine as house shoes rather than slippers, I love mine.

Get a pair of thongs mate (or flip flops as they're called in the UK) or slides so you can wear a nice pair of white socks with them?

Apart from bike shoes, and gardening, I've pretty much only worn Reef Phantoms since April.
My flip flop tan is already at end of summer levels!
Reef Fanning's or Gumbies Islanders for me, as for slippers, my feet are their own heat source!
I second the Haflingers, comfortable, you can get ones you can wear outside and don't look too slipperish.

Haflingers or Mahabis are the indoor shoes par excellence. Great value and you can even nip out to the bins.

I've had a pair of these for the past 11 years and must admit they could do with replacing as not much fluff left inside but they are so comfy and the outside is still going strong. They also do them with a hard sole but I still do the bins with the soft sole.

Well I jumped in and bought a pair. They're excellent. Might still need some snuggly warm ones though.
Righto, I'm jumping on the sleuth bandwagon too. My Mahabis are on the way out and still look a bit 'slippery' for my liking.
Gumbies these are doing the job for me at the moment, I don't like things that are too warm on my feet and these being opened backed allow for that. Their flip-flops are off my shopping list though as they seem to stretch and with my wide flat feet they just don't work for me.
So…. Are the Haflingers wide fitting?

Just Heat Holder socks for me. They're as warm as slippers, but don't squash my toes together and don't make my feet sweat. MUCH better than slippers IMO.

I ordered some giesswein following a recommendation in this parish back at the beginning of lockdown 1.0 but despite checking the size guide and measuring, they came up waaaaay small so my partner took them
Ordered some haflingers which are practically identical. Very happy with them
I unusually get too hot in supermarket artificial fibre jobs but these have been wonderfully comfortable.
Just had to try and work out what make mine are, Rohde, no idea which model, bought for me by the kids a few years ago, deliver on internal and external duties, good arch support, quick google reveals they are German designed, what difference that makes I dont know, but they have lasted an age, dead comfy and still going strong.
I need some slippers. Would be good to be able to put the bins out in them but I can’t bear spending much on them, they are indoor footwear after all. Or is £30 the minimum for a decent pair?
@paulneenan76 yes indoor wear, but by the end of the week you've probably spent more than 24 hours in them, however i'd say £30 is a good budget below that you are getting into the buy cheap buy twice ranges, so your 2 x £20 slipper will have cost you £10more after 6 months and not be as comfy

I love them, comfy, not too hot. Especially like the pair that I bought I slightly dodgy zebra fur pattern. They run run slightly large, so have sized down.
"proper" moccasins ie without an attached sole pure heaven for your feet.
After several years I just had to retire my clearance Timberland hut boots £12 from the outlet store if I remember correctly.

Further to this recommendation and several weeks into ownership I wholeheartedly agree. Mega comfortable, don’t look like slippers and have a decent sole for outdoor forays. For the £35 or so I paid whilst on sale and with a discount code these are an absolute slipper bargain.

And at last I've taken the advice of my own thread and got a pair delivered today - look and feel fantastic!
I’ve ordered a second pair whilst I can get them for £30.
I love my gummies slippers really comfortable and have a proper sole. You can also buy new insoles for them. Had the slippers three years now and put one set of insoles in them.
I have Dude Fartys for knocking round the house, really comfy but with a canvas upper not that warm at the moment.
+1 for Gumbies. Made from recycled materials and just brilliant
