Thank god Muse are over. Soulless. Looking forward to Underworld. Wonder if Mmm Skyscraper is part of their live set.

You describe Muse as soulless and then go on to mention Underworld in the same sentence? Weird.

James opening Glastonbury with Tim Booth on form as usual, Underworld just now-Dark Train and Rez , have seen them both already this year but would have loved to have been there today.

Will watch Foals tomoz as they have some good energy live from what I've seen of them previously

Very well... but i want to discuss different topic. bellow this,

All the above mouse baits can be used to kill mouse, rats and rodents in home, garage and farm without any additional equipment and Also, these baits can be used as best bait for mouse traps to lure the mouse to the rats and mouse into the trap using their food grade ingredients and strong smell.

Not sure if Muse would fall for a Mouse trap.

So far I've only seen the last couple of minutes of Zed Zed Top, I couldn't see anything else on the red button that was interesting last night, like James, who I was never that interested in until I saw them at the IoW Festival last year and realised what a fine live band they were, and how many really good songs they'd released over the years.
Tim Booth does a great line in crowd surfing, although they may not allow that at Glastonbury.

I don't get it: What is it with Adele? It's average, competent music, but has been done a thousand times and a lot better.

+1. It's bland, MOR stuff. Obvious why it appeals to a large demographic, but somehow doesn't feel right for Saturday night at Glastonbury.

It's not even MOR. It's depressing in it's banality.

Tame Impala sounded ace. Can't get away with Adele's music.

Barney never could sing. Doesn't stop his flat, deadpan vocals working bizarrely well in the context of their music.

However, if he wasn't in there already, can we add Stephen Morris to that best drummers thread from a while back?

Man you guys are easily pleased.
I think I'm yet to hear a good mixing, the sound seems all over the place on every set. Have the BBC screwed up here?

Muse, sounded drawn out and quickly got bored - as usual.
Adele, pfft, whatever. Is she doing some kind of an impression between songs, or is that genuinely her personality?
New Order, took me a while to get into it - probably till Tempation. Again, sound was a bit crap.
Mercury Rev - better, uplifting, good effort.
Underworld - FFS, One irritating hit massively overplayed 20 years ago. Give us a rest.
Foals - good performance, sound a bit all over the place again.
James - I'm a huge fan but Tim seemed to struggle last night. I've heard him complain of voice problems this year, hope he's ok.

not getting the glasto buzz this year, which is a shame. normally have a bit of a get together with it on. but the sounds are just not doing it for me. guess it the move of the times and whats mainstream now.

Barney never could sing. Doesn't stop his flat, deadpan vocals working bizarrely well in the context of their music.

But he no longer manages evenly deadpan, and seems to change the phrasing so the lyrics don't fit the music (like a bad karaoke reading from an autocue). Love their music but thought they sounded terrible. No stage presence either. Visuals looked good and I'm sure in the crowd with everyone singing along you'd not have heard much of Barney or noticed that Gillian just looked mildly irritated the whole time.

I think I'm yet to hear a good mixing, the sound seems all over the place on every set. Have the BBC screwed up here?

They don't get their own mix - just what comes out of the desk. Sound is mixed for the the festival, big speakers, open air (or tent) - not for TV. This is my first 'fallow year' for at least 7 years and the sound *at* the festival is usually amazingly good almost everywhere - much better than most indoor gigs. There are flat patches at the extremes - not everywhere in front of the Pyramid sounds good and the shape of the Park field means if you're too far back it drops off badly. Strong winds throw it out (and it's not always been good -- they tried some magic wind proof speakers in 2007 which were a disaster http://www.nme.com/news/the-killers/29633)

Went to Field Day in Victoria Park the other weekend and most of the stages sounded awful so there's more to it than it just being open air. Muddy indistinct vocals in the tents. The main stage was better (John Grant sounded amazing) but James Blakes set had so much bass it was uncomfortable to listen to

On the music

Last Shadow Puppets sounded and looked good. Finding their stuff more interesting than Artic Monkeys.
Tame Impala
Mbongwana Star were a highlight (as they were at Field Day - but as above, the mix wasn't great).
Squeeze really surprised me. They've aged well, were enjoying themselves, great songs. I'd not have said I was a huge fan but that would have been a great start to the day on site.

Gutted not to have been there for Underworld (and LCD Soundsystem) - looked great.

Without Peter Hook, it isn't New Order. Who cares what they sound like.

Churches and Lumineers best for me so far but I haven't watched it all. Liked the French woman too, Christine and the queens?

Adele headlining Glastonbury seems wrong to me. I don't like her stuff but that's not the basis for my comment. I just expect a global band to be on the pyramid on the Saturday night.

Great set from Christine and the Queens.

Big presence for une petite femme Francais.

Great voice, good electro sounds and I love the dancers.

Plus, she has the charisma and showmanship of a cushion.
