[Closed] Getting a Garmin repaired in the UK

I've got a few problems with my Edge 305.
The lap button is almost impossible to press by finger pressure.
It occasionally goes dead and needs resetting.
There is a lot of condensation inside the screen.

I found this on Garmin's site, http://www8.garmin.com/support/outofwarranty.html which seems to be what I'm looking for, a flat $79 repair charge, except that it's a US only service.
Is there a similar UK service ? I can't find it on their website.

Uk does the same - was £65 when I used it - they just replaced it.

re: buttons I found having a good clean around them with a pin to clear all the accumulated cack out made them work a lot better but the condensation is a return to base job I'd say.

use the warranty http://www.garmin.com/uk/support/warranty/ line to get a returns number - you give them card details and they charge before returning unit. Was about 3 day turnaround when I did my 305.

OK, thanks.
I've searched the site again and I still can't find a link there to the page you linked to.
Edge 305s still go for £150+ on ebay, so £65 for a recon doesn't sound too bad.

Try this link then

I had my 705 repaired/replaced for 90quid after it got damaged in an OTB incident 🙂 - seemed like a very good deal. I think I phoned them first

Ooh, now that's tempting.
£134 for a brand new unit with 12 months warranty as against £65 for a recon unit with 90 days warranty. Thanks for the info, definitely worth considering.

Mulletus Maximus, it's been up since Sunday night. I was going to bump it later.

Speak to them. They usually send out new units as warranty replacements. Their service is fantastic, ring them.

Yep ring them, or if you are near southampton pop in. Just dealt with them over a warranty replacement for my 800. Great service. 48 hour turn around.

I think on my old Vista (v old!) Garmin UK charged about 50 quid (just looked up and it was actually £36.66!) for a replacement which came with a 1 year warranty - excellent service! It may have been a refurbished unit, if it was the case, screen etc were brand new, I was v happy!
