I'm assuming the amount of hash he smokes hasn't done his lungs any favours so a bout of pneumonia would be particularly bad for him.
I still reckon he has aids though.

Like it or not, as its not politically sensitive- male/male sex has a higher risk of HIV.

Straight men usaully pick women up whenever they get the chance, and some straight men also explore the bounds of their sexuality, by visiting gay cruising areas, as if they where seen in a gay club or pub fraternising with other men,it may be reported back to their partner,who will probably be female.
HIV, can be caught through intravenous drug use, anal intercourse,body fluid contamination, blood transfusions in the 90,s, thankfully not by listening to arseholes on internet forums.

Project. This isn't a sexuality bashing thread but by your statement (with figures) I feel compelled to defend my own GU comment. Its about a good singer. Here are some stats from the US (first hit on google). Yes STD's are on the rise in Hetrosexuals but these are DIFFERENT diseases.

I'm really struggling to see exactly what George Michaels sex life and possible subsequent health issues have got to do with anyone.
The only subtext I can see is 'gay man with pneumonia means he has AIDS' which, again, is nothing to do with anyone.
Give it a rest all, stop trying to justify your prurience, and please stop with the middle class attempts to decry your own prejudices.

What have any celebrities' personal lives got to do with anyone? Doesn't stop Heat magazine selling by the bucketload.
Wind your neck in, I wasn't wishing illness on anyone (unlike some people in the Prince Philip thread, for instance). And you're in no position to comment on my "prejudices," I've plenty of friends with far more outlandish character traits than something as mundane as being homosexual.
But yeah. I'm not getting drawn into a pissing contest on Christmas eve, I've got mince pies to eat.

Well, perhaps, but how many of them are cottaging druggy celebrities? I'd wager that there's a higher hit rate in that particular little sub-demographic.
I wouldn't deny your lifestyle/potential disease postulation, but I feel that GM is the subject of a certain amount of homosexual=death by the bad AIDS speculation.
My feeling is that this is prejudicial to both homosexuals and those living with being HIV+ or living with AIDS. His celebrity seems to allow or enable public comment on the matter, which is, in turn, prejudicial to all those groups named above.
In tune with the Festive season, and all that it may mean to those of us with or without religion, I think we could have addressed this issue with a little more sensitivity and a bit less schadenfreude.
I see lots of people with pneumonia, and even one or two with HIV. They are still people..
