[Closed] Gap year/long term travel insurance, with pre-existing medical condition?

Hi all,

Moving to India for at least 6 months (I will be working), and then likely travelling/move elsewhere after that, so need travel/medical/possession insurance. I also have had shoulder surgery on both shoulders in the past few years, no problems/complications any more, but seems most insurers still want to know about it.

Many insurers won't provide gap year insurance if you have a pre existing medical condition, but I have found a few that do. Any suggestions for good/reputable companies to look at? I also need gadget insurance, probably up to at least £2k.

Kind regards,
Duane

How old are you? Try Saga, they insured me and I have a coiple of pre-existing issues. You'll pay for it though.

I did a similar trip and used InsureAndGo and their backpacker policy. I'd just had a collarbone plated and had to declare that as part of the online application - paid an extra fifty quid or so I think.

We used Navigator Travel. I have asthma and had also just had an operation on my nose. My other half had just recovered from a broken thumb. We had to declare all of these. Don't know what they are like if you have to claim though.
