Exhibit A: Michael Clarke, Sydney 2008.

Exhibit B: Michael Clarke, Adelaide, 2010

Exhibit C: Michael Clarke, Headingley, 2013

There's a bit of a trend...

Didn't take long. Class.

Given how many folk took the piss am I allowed to consider it personal yet ? You know that is the thing you so vehemently object. Would you prefer to maintain that you dont do that whilst calling me a hypocrite ?

TBH I got taken in by the euphoria of it all [ you and your petard and all that] ...forgive me and I am sure you wont do it anymore not least because you dont

night well done for staying up - hard to see them surviving tomorrow and a cracking game so far

Superb play from both sides. much more competitive than I expected and plenty to talk about both performance wise and ethics wise

Cracking start to a series IMHO

Agreed. Great game so far - closer than expected.

Watson was given out lbw to Broad and was then caught on camera swearing violently in the direction of the pavilion – where the third umpire, Marais Erasmus, had upheld Dar's decision because replays showed the ball clipping the leg stump.

In the middle Chris Rogers, Watson's opening partner, also threw his bat to the ground and stared meaningfully at Dar.

Classy. Hopefully these noble guardians of the spirit of the game will prevail and strike a victory for respect and fair play against the dirty cheats.

Bugger. Just had the batty great aunt on the phone and missed both those wickets. Channel 9 don't seem to be too keen on replays of Aussie wickets...

Catches win matches, and that one deserves a win on its own

It's been very interesting, thanks.

You lost your misplaced blinkers yet? And how's the bruising after your long fall from that high horse?

Hint - to avoid people jibing you because you've said stupid things you can't back up, don't say stupid things you can't back up.

THM - you keep baiting then cry foul when you're pulled up on it. Poor form.

Damn this is tense still! What a classic match.

Bloody hell

I've got a bad feeling about this.

It's interesting to see how this thread has disintegrated into arguments rather like the rugby thread. Without checking I can't be sure but I'm pretty sure it's the same people too.

Puts me off posting tbh.

Yep Yossarian - can everyone keep it nice 🙂

Other than that, if anyone is in Nottingham can you pop down to Trent Bridge and remind the England team that some of us will wake up in Australia tomorrow and would appreciate a quick wicket

Nope, we had one troll. Troll now gone, all is good.

(Well, apart from the small matter of only a 20-run buffer. That's not good. Not one bit.)

Still enjoying the cricket Zokes and hope you are too! But like AA (on the rugby thread) I am happy to ignore the silliness.

Glad that it has tuned out more interesting than expected - especially seeing that we seemed reluctant to have six more goes at a number 11. Who would you put your money on - swanny or a number 11?

Tons and tons of credit to the Aussies. Real gutsy performance full of character. We are in for a brilliant series I think.

**** YOU ICC, DRS AND ERASMUS.... ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT... night all, not going to stay up further to discuss this one, have fun.

Absolutely fantastic game of cricket, but it's forever going to be known as the ridiculous DRS Test IMHO, I'm beginning to see why India don't use it in there series at home... Well played both teams, bring on Lords 🙂

Brilliant game. So glad all the gubbins spoken about Australia being awful before the series had even started has been blown away. They're still ranked 4th in the world! Might have had a torrid time in India, but this is the Ashes, it's different.

Well done on your 10 fer Jimmy, utterly deserved 🙂
