I presumed they'd been taken down because after 12 months of them, new ones demonstrated a incredible lack or originality from the creators.

Nah, the director of the film suddenly got all sniffy and up himself and started throwing copyright infringement about, when 'fair use' should take precedence. Glad YouTube have grown a set.
