Today is Stuart Adamson day . The lead singer of Big Country is no longer with us , but his music lives on.
In memory of Stuart who was a brilliant performer ( lucky to see BC live , just the once, in Camden) How about a Scottish Music appreciation thread ?

RIP Stuart.

I'm at work and unable to post You Tube links, but does anyone remember Glasgow lofi types, Urusei Yatsura?

More of a singles band really and the albums could be a little patchy, but I really miss them. Always great fun live too.

I have very fond memories of this when I was at University many years ago....

Absolutely loved Big Country too - A great live band in their day.

RIP SA

I'm guessing the term jock rock has been coined before now?

An eclectic selection to include the finest pure pop song of the 80s, bar none.

Surely we need a song about heading over to High Valleyfield for a fight, penned by Dunfie boys Adamson and Jobson:

Stuart may have gone, but Big Country with Mike Peters and Bruce's lad Jamie stil sound pretty good, in fact very good.

Saw them in April and they are touring again in Jan/Feb playing The Crossing in its entirety

I'll play, even though I think the Skids were the only decent band Adamson was in!

Fire Engines:

The Associates:

Scars:

Arab strap:

Sorry the last one is crap video but is a brilliant song.

Loved the JAM's/KLF one^^^^^ can't say the same about the red hot chilli pipers. I mean I can appreciate their skill (making pipes sound even just ok) and liked the note bending but please pass the ear bleach! ๐Ÿ˜‰
