Doing a quick sweepstake for World cup in work just £1 a team. Midget mouthy alphamale wanna be in the Office is kicking off that it should be £2 a go all the best teams are taken, when he chose Russia he wanted to swap it 🙁 total fin de cloche

I just got France in ours

£3 a go in ours leads to a juicy £60 prize for the winner plus lesser prizes for 2nd and 3rd. (pretty confident France won't get anywhere close)

I work at home, alone.

I settled on £1.50 per team and stand to make a killing.

Tell him you're playing the FIFA role and will bar him from the tournament under Fair Play if he doesn't stop bloody moaning.

If Pigface is playing the FIFA role he should ask for a bribe then call him racist when he refuses.

We've got A and B pots here, top teams in A, lesser-ranked teams in B, prizes for best from both pots so no-one's likely to be stuck with completely no chance. I have Germany and the Ivory Coast and am content with my lot. 🙂

My office is manned by such a miserable shower of c**** there is no sweepstake. In fact there is no talking not related to work. No personlisation of workspace or computers. Just misery and lots of it...

On the plus side it is sunny outside, I am looking at the sun shinning on the South Downs and I only have 2 weeks left here, one of which I am on holiday for.

wwaswas, can I drop in £1.50 for 32 teams later?

Bloke came to my desk: "It's early on, loads of good teams left!"

And there were still loads of good teams left after I picked Japan.

Go Japan.

No-one came to my desk, but saw them loading a bowl of kinder surprise thingys.
In the unlikely event that they do cos there's 3 teams left, I shall politely decline the invitation.

Our competition involves predicting the score of every match and winner is decided based upon total points scored. Entries acceptable only via provided official Excel spreadhseet. A sweepstake was ruled out as there are too many interested players vs number of teams. Too hard for me.

We have a special prize for the person who submits the best photo of them portraying the country they have chosen.
The girl who got Brazil wasn't happy with my suggestion.

She could simply gather all her stuff up, put it in a cardboard box and shuffle off whilst you smash up her desk and put a half finished stadium in its place...that would do it

I paid £2 for a piece of paper that says "Switzerland" on it.

I suspect I've been done.

Should have said. I could have written that on a scrap of paper, and posted it via Deutsche Post + Royal Mail for half that price.

I was banned from doing ours after the Greece 2004 debacle.

We didn't have enough entrants to cover all teams and rather than allow second entries, i decided that we'd exclude a couple of no-hopers from the draw, and if the impossible happened and they went on to win we'd donate the money to a local charity instead.

The Children's Trust ended up with an unexpected donation, we got in the local paper, and i was henceforth banned from running it again.

I still do the Grand National one, and to appease the no-hopers we have prizes for 1st, 2nd and also for the last horse to complete the course with jockey still on board, that way even the shite horses can still win you something.

Those who've drawn the USA have a greater chance of victory than they may at first have thought;

[img] [/img]

TimP - I would let you but I want to maximise my chances of winning so I'm restricting entry to those who live at my house, are male and over 47.

[edit] *hopes the USA are actually in it or he's going to look a bit daft*

Our office sweepstake used to be run by a guy with a screed of PHP behind a website, you got points for wins, goals, the lot, it was a sophisticated operation!

I've got Iran in return for my £3 contribution. Which shut up the guy who was whining about getting Ghana.

Unless they pick up the most red cards (our booby prize), I won't be making any return on that investment.

We went for the 'pay us £2 and we'll put your name in a hat' then drew out names and teams to prevent the issue of having half a dozen shite teams left at the end.

I'm joining the Orange army for the tournament...

Our sweep was £2 a team, picked a piece of paper with a number on it - teams given a number beforehand and sealed in an envelope so no one knew what countries had gone.
31 teams only to be picked - last slot goes to charity.
I don't follow football in any way at all, which really pi55ed off everyone when I got Brazil 😀
