[#413886]

For some years now I've had a favourite trail, which was mine. Never rode it with anyone else. Often meant to but never got round to it.

๐Ÿ˜ฅ And now it's gone. Gone forever. Every last yard. Gone. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

I always got a tingle in my spine as I set out and a beaming smile lit up my (rather handsome) face. But now it's just a fond memory.

You see I've just realised in the last day or so that the trail in question only ever really existed in my sleep. I dreamed it.

The disappointment I felt when this finally dawned on me was just as real as if it really had been taken away. Silly really because there are no really beig hills in Burscough.

Yes, I know that's both sad and weird.

that's shitey, sorry to hear it. I keep seeing various trails round here which have trees marked with the spraypaint of doom...making the most of riding them before they get turned into nice wide flat concrete paths.

lol that is a very odd place to start a ride! I've hit a few pretty hefty potholes in Burscough (including one that nearly broke my wrist lol), but thats the most off-roading I think I've seen around there ๐Ÿ™‚

I thought I recognised your sense of humour ๐Ÿ™‚

You see I've just realised in the last day or so that the trail in question only ever really existed in my sleep. I dreamed it. So why would you expect sympathy? Do you have imaginery friends too?

It does exist mate. Or at least, one just as good if not better.

You just have to find it.

I'll show you a few candidates if you like?

Gary_M Ias a child, I did have an imaginary friend called Jim who died but fortunately made a full recovery.
Nowadays I have "virtual" friends, they appear out of the ether, many of them lurk around here.

Molgrips, I'm always up for new trails. I'm badly out of shape at the moment, but what better incentive ?

DJG I can't explain what's more disconcerting, it's been truly REAL to me for years. Now I've realised it's just a dream .. .. ..

The sense of loss is just as real.

Plus there was this secret bit that I never got to try.

Maybe .. .. ...
