What's yours?

My vote goes to: John McLaughlin Trio at the Royal Festival Hall (1989).

John McLaughlin, Trilok Gurtu, Kai Ekhardt.

Gobsmacking playing and an absolutely flawless recording quality.

Oh, and:

... but only because I'm on it... ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thunders live double album is great, as is the first Queen live album - Live Killers? - far more atmospheric than the 1985 Wembley gig that gets all the attention

The Ramones - It's Alive. Seminal. Basically one long track interspersed with something like 36 x "1234"

Bjork - Vespertine Live is pretty amazing. But then it would be, because she's fantastic ๐Ÿ™‚

My vote however also goes to Nirvana - Unplugged In New York. Utterly captivating and really captures the spirit of the band. The cover of Bowies The Man Who Sold The World is one of my favourite songs of all time.

Four easy listening faves I couldn't choose between.
Skinny Puppy - Ain't it dead yet? - 68 minutes all on track one of the CD!
Spiritualized - @ Royal Albert Hall.
Ministry - In Case you didn't feel like showing up.
Revolting Cocks - You goddamned son of a bitch.

Rory Gallagher - Irish Tour

It was years before I even bothered buying any of his studio stuff, didn't see the point!

I think my favourite has to be The Orb live @ Glastonbury 1993 it was a good experience for me there & then - and I enjoyed hearing some of the set again on the LP Orb Live'93 or on the tape I sernedipitously recored off Radio 1 not long afterwards

Mind you Orbital played the following year, and the live Gasto compoliation album releeased awile back inspires too

Rainbows Onstage closely followed by the Scorpions Tokyo Tapes and Deep Purples Made in Japan

Strangely enough it was all that "Scream for Me Long Beach" that spoilt Live after Death for me

Second vote for Nirvana : Unplugged in N.Y.

All time favourite would be Hanx - Stiff Little Fingers - the amount of energy they put into it was amazing!

I saw them live when I was much younger and the only band I've seen that were better were the Clash, makes me feel old.
