Hi,
We are off to Thailand next month with are two boys 3.5 and 1 year old.
I've been once before when I was young free and single, so this time it has to be a bit different. We are heading to Koh Samui first to the Bo Phut area, but after that we are not sure where to go, and where is best for our young family.
Have any of you lot done the same and have any good recommendations?
Cheers in advance!

does phuket appeal to you at all? plenty of beaches and not much distance between them.
also a fair few boat trips out to the nearby islands such as James bond island if that takes your fancy.
Don't think you'll need any tips, Thailand is becoming increasingly family holiday friendly.
I guess stay away from pataya to stop your wandering eyes!! perhaps phuket, hua hin and chaingmai. You'll want some mozy repellant for the kids.
Pack light as all your toiletries are cheap over there.
not been to Phuket, but I have heard that it is a bit over crowded and sleazy. But I guess its not like that everywhere.
hmmmm i spose it can be crowded in patong for instance, but i wouldnt have thought any more than any other holiday resort really.
I lived there for 4 years and I honestly cannot say what you would do with a 1 and 3.5 year old for a holiday there.
There are various zoos, wildlife parks, water parks etc, but nothing exciting, well probably for a young kid it would be.
Be prepared to be ripped off by the taxi mafia in Phuket and Samui.
There will be some sort of elephant trekking nonsense that you can go on, probably a croc farm as well.
If you were on your own or with a partner I would be telling you to get off the beaten path and look around real rural Thailand to see what life is really like.
When I first went there when I was traveling the world, I used to get local buses to wherever I fancied and just see where they took me, slept in some strange places, and met some really odd people, but it was all good fun.
Hmm, just come back from there with my Family all i can say is stay away from a restuarant called the red snapper on Koh Samui, made us ill for 7 days.
Not much to do in my opinion for kids that age, except sand sun and sea.
Get yourself across to the west coast. Hat Khao lak, then Ko similan for a few days. all very relaxed, and the kids will love it , especially similan islands.
