So far so good. Radio 4 in the car, haven't done any shopping yet, and all the music I've been involved with has been traditional stuff with the choir.....

Anyay, covers don't count so fill yer boots:

I'm out - beaten by MrsMC retuning the car radio to Heart Christmas.

Good job I kept the receipt for her present

Somehow I've managed to hear every christmas song bar Wham! Thought I'd got caught on day 2 but it turned out to be a really crap cover version in Poundland (there with work...) so got away with it.

Suppose it helps that I generally work alone or at least have control of the radio so can limit any chance of exposure I get. It's only dangerous when I go into customer's premises but seeing as most are playing the game too it's surprisingly safe during working hours.

Still in. Somehow I've managed to hear every Christmas song going, bar Last Christmas. Three days away for work next week, so hopefully continue to avoid it.

Still here, thanks to my usual expedient of avoiding leaving the house during December.

Damn you Screwfix, damn you to hell!

I thought I was in for the duration after successfully running the gauntlet of the shopping centre yesterday, but no - one silly "click and collect" moment did for me.

and I'm out.....

Half time music at Guildford City FC vs Molesey FC tonight.

Shit game, only went because son was ball boying (cost me £7 to get in so they could earn £6), cold, wet, and whamageddon'ed on top of it all.

If anyone from GCFC is on here, you played rubbish, even your pen wasn't one and you got what you deserved out of the game.

Not happy.

Miraculously still in.
Sat in car, in traffic...skipped The Pogues and, before any music started, "Last.." came up on the stereo display...skipped very quickly!!

Still in, but a very close shave - went upstairs and Ms Beej had the radio playing in the bathroom. She shouted at me to go back down, which I did before realising what was playing.

The scene, a village curry house.
Enter stage left, a tired and weary CFH in search of the takeaway ordered earlier (lamb karahi, chicken jalfrezi, rice, garlic naan, tadka dahl and all the poppadums)

Friendly chap in curry house, "It'll be about five or ten minutes. Beer while you wait?"

Self, "Thanks, but I'm driving, so I'd rather not"

Then I notice the sounds emanating from the speakers...

It's Band Aid.

*Gulps*

On dangerous ground here. Minutes pass, curry still not ready.

Bananarama.

*Clenches*

The song is ending. Is that the Gates of Wamhalla I hear opening?

My curry arrives...the song changes...

It's only Shakin' Stevens!

CCTV footage of me leaving here;

I'm out, as of last Saturday evening.

Heard those fateful notes as I was standing at the urinal in a pub in Whitehaven.

Had to drown my sorrows, obvs.

Out as of 8am today. Got in the work van this morning, someone had left a Christmas CD in the stereo and the first track to play was Wham! Heard the first few notes before I could hit the off button.

Chris had better hide from me when I next see him, he didn't refuel it yesterday either 😡

Heard a cover version yesterday so not sure if I’m still in or not.

Original rules pic has gone, but it said covers and remixes were ok.
Only version I’ve heard is the one on the ad for the (no doubt classic) film, so still in... one day to go I believe!

That was a close one, Flashy. Sounds a risk worth taking for the curry though.

I'm beginning to think I've got some sort of free pass at the moment, been to all sorts of places in the last few days and not even had a whiff of being Whammed.
Slade? Tick
Wizzard? Tick
Band Aid? Tick
Shaky? Tick

But still no Last Christmas!.

I'm tempted to find thwe Best of Wham on YouTube just to see what happens.... 😉

Still in. Even the portable radio at the tip was being kind to me.

Is it wrong that I now feel like I'm missing out?

Still in, anti-social tendencies and noise cancelling headphones FTW.

Heard Slade about 10 times so I've probably had a few near misses.

Had we survived Whamaggedon I should have had a tale to tell of the hardihood, endurance and courage of my companions which would have stirred the heart of every STWer.

Arrgghhhh.... Spoke too soon.

Local news a short while ago had an article about Christmas lights, and guess what started playing in the background just at the end of it.

Is it wrong that I now feel like I’m missing out?

I was beginning to feel that way too. Almost like Stockholm Syndrome in reverse 😉
