And preview semi finals on now on bbc4.
great camped up tv
Thanks I will make sure I avoid it.
Watching it now, awesomely terrible ๐
cyprus on now, behind bars, steel ones
I can't wait. I was at the Finals last year in Vienna. I loved it.
Avoid that crap like every year. Oh, but Terry Wogan was so funny. No he wasn't.
Yet, here you are.
Got the beers in and friends rounds on Saturday. Can't wait!
The winner will be Scandinavian or from The Baltic. We will come 3rd from last with 17 points.
We will get 2 points from Ireland, 7 from Malta and 8 from Cyprus. Everybody else (really) hates us.
Given the current Estonian chap on the telly, I doubt we'll off to Tallinn next year...
if we leave europe, we want be in eurovision anymore and it may not be broadcast, anyone else realised the cultural desert that will ensue.
To be fair, being in Eurovision doesn't actually depend on being in the continent of Europe, never mind the EU. Just ask Israel and Azerbaijan...
I'm sure I've got something more important to do, I think there's some paint I need to check to see if it's drying properly.
We will certainly gain a true perception of how much Europe want the UK to stay in the EU, anything above nil points for our entry will be certainly emphatic, despite our entry this year actually being a catchy lil number. ๐
Shall we make this the official live discussion thread on the night?
I can sticky it for a couple of hours and ban Drac if it helps...
Yet, here you are.
I've never gone for the "if you can't say something nice.. " theory... 8)
Not far away now, can't wait. ๐
Avid fanbouy of the whole event, watched it almost every year that I can remember. Although this year I will be at a real ale beer festival beforehand so I will either be in a hazy daze or dancing on the tables.

Yes please Cougar! ๐
Litmus test - that was the term that avoided me last night. This year's competition will be the litmus test as to our favourability from our European brethren and as such, this needs to be the defining referendum.
Perhaps our entry could have been a cover of The Clash?
I think the contest is great, just not for the reasons that the producers would like me to.
Same for the first couple of episodes of The Simon Cowell Show.
Funny, cheesy savage amusement ๐

Please, and tell him Simon his hero is on itv in X factory, he may have forgotten.
Am I correct in thinking this is being streamed live via YouTube rather than that Octavision (?) plugin that we used to have to use?
My eldest son & his boyfriend are actually on the way to Stockholm now to watch it. Apparently Cheryl Baker's on their flight, whoever she is.
My brother and his girlfriend are out there for the final. Can't see the appeal but they love it. My brother's a theatre designer/stage manager/lampie so he laps the big show up. But I think inside, I hope he doesn't actually enjoy the music ๐

Ha! As if you don't know.
There's some proper talent on BBC Young Musician of the Year on Sunday though.
what a brilliant reason to come and watch the Day/night enduro at the QECP cycle fest!!
What's your favourite winning song?

It seems Kim Jong-un is gearing up for an entry when North Korea join the EU

I suspect he has been watching those old Robert Palmer videos.

Still Making Your Mind Up
Got some friends coming over for this.
European beer is a requirement, I am cooking a variety of iconic European dishes to keep the crowd happy.
It really is fantastically corupt
I used to love it as a kid, proper family entertainment. I recall doing my own scoring and all that stuff.
But now I really can't begin to get excited by it.
iolo - I can't see what those songs are (work blocks YouTube), but unless one of them is Lordi then, well, you're wrong ๐
Me and the Little Lady have been to Eurovision twice, Dusseldorf and Malmo; tickets for the semis on the Thursday night (finals tickets are MENTAL expensive), then a weekend break in a European city that just happens to be hosting a big party on the Saturday night. What's not to like?
Actually, from experience, drunk Danes, that's something not to like.
iolo - tough choice, if it's any help, I managed 16 seconds for the sparkley purple ladies and nearly 2 minutes for the Finnish lizards.
7/10. Which was rather embarrassing.
8/10. Ahem.
Who can forget Scooch?
9/10 and I don't even watch/like eurovision ๐
9/10 ๐
I've stickied this now so that I don't have to close fifteen duplicate threads for the next three hours.

I think the stickiness has worn off. Do you want some blu-tac? ๐
Horrendous watching.
you might want to stay away from this thread for the next few hours. It's going to be greatHorrendous watching
