Hi,

Having a nightmare with my electricity. Have got one of these prepay key things and £30 seems to last 5 days. This seems a bit excessive.

According to the note on my fridge (I didn't set it up) saying it costs 14.xxp on cheap rate and 17.xxp per kwh on full price where xx means I can't remember the exact figure. Is this expensive?

How can I get the best price as I can't afford to pay so much. Everything in our house is electric, our heating is set at 15 C all the time.

Cheers for any help.

Electric heating is pricey, Lizzy's house was mental, I think they paid £15 a week each in a house of 2.

Rig up a turbo trainer to the mains.

Oh, by the way- SUS XC race, Blair Adam, 12th February. You in?

The pre-paid meters are expensive - they are usually installed in council houses or for people who are not very good at paying their bills. They usually charge to get them removed and according to southern electric they do a credit check before removing them. A lot of the utility companies have prepaid meter rates so might be worth checking the rates on uswitch, moneysupermarket and gocompare

Thanks for the links MrsPoddy. So according to uswitch I can pay just £233 per year. I think I need to make some phonecalls because that'd be considerably cheaper than at the moment. Also their price per kwh seem a lot lower. I think we've just got a bad deal plus poor boiler or something.

Luke - I'm there. I'll try setup some sort of UHI cycling club for monies.
