The lad has got a Philips AT887 electric shaver that needs new blades / heads - 3 whirly round things. I've never used one so was a little shocked at the cost of the replacement head - £35 odd quid. ( I have to pay for them apparently ... )
Does the collective know if using the genuine part is the only game in town or is non brand replacement available for sensible money that works well.

I'd say go genuine. The non OEM reviews I saw for mine (also a Philips) were enough to put me off.
I reckon I get well over a year out of mine, and I'm 'Kojaking' the entire head every day.
