Not sure if it's already been mentioned, but (I think) the numbers used are based on registered voters rather than population. Better off areas tend to have a higher rate of voter registration, which might go some way toward explaining why Tory MPs seem to represent more people than Labour MPs?

That's my understanding too.

How strange. Threads are automagically locked if there's been no activity in a year and yet this one is now onto it's second year. It's almost like a Moderator unlocked it specially.

If you had been the mod on duty this morning when I asked for it to be unlocked, that's what very well might have happened. Ahem....
