Just booked Edinburgh for the weekend in March. What shouldn't I miss out on seeing/doing?
No coke and hookers as taking the wife ๐
Thanks all
A walk up/about Calton Hill is always good - easily accessible, gives you a good perspective of the city.
A walk around Stockbridge and Dean Village is nice too - it's a bit calmer, some interesting buildings, and some nice wee independent shops & cafes to browse.
Theres a pizzeria just off the Royal Mile that's worth a go - Civerinos. It's no frills dining, not very cheap either - but the quality of food is very good (tip: finish with a Nutella calzone!)
Maybe consider jumping on a train to South Queensferry to see the bridges? I never tire looking at the rail bridge, and the new road bridge being built is interesting too. (tip:get off at Dalmeny station, there's a foot path down the side of the railway that takes you to the shore below).
Stockbridge is lovely, as recommended on here i cycled, well bromptoned, along the water of leith between murrayfield and leith. Found Stockbridge which has loads of nice cafes and inde shops. You could walk a few miles along the water.
Other recommendations on here were absolute tops....di giorgio canonmills, kilimanjaro up by uni, caffeine drip lower end of princes st. Cafes everywhere but these really stood out.
