Any recommendations for "quirky/interesting" bars east of the city in London. Asking on behalf of a friend.

Cheers

Oslo at Hackney East does great food and an excellent range of London beers, including Five Points Brewery, which is only about a quarter of a mile away, so it may be possible to book in a visit as well.
The pub is a doddle to find as its right underneath the station, on your right as you get to the bottom of the ramp down from the platform.

Not visited in ages ,but the Old Blue Last near old street is always worth a visit.
If you're lucky Mr Weatherall might be in playing a bit of dancehall or rockabilly . ๐Ÿ™‚

Not strictly on-topic, but is the Morpeth Arms in Pimlico still any good?
