Interesting comments on a tv piece yesterday (bbc I think)
Both candidates encourage strong like/dislike views
There could be very few undecideds now given the above and many of those may not vote as they see both candidates as terrible
Some pretty strong anti-Clinton views from women who see Bill as a serial philanderer and Hillary as party to that intimidating any accusers
There are as many white working class non-voters as ethnic minorities - so both sides have "get the vote out" campaigns
Buffet is being very very economical with the truth
In fairness, he's not running for Prez; he's rebutting an arguement he's been dragged into.

Just like this country then.

Presumably they see the Pussy grabbing donald as a lovable rogue then
I dont think any feminist will be voting for Trump
Two pretty dire and tainted candidates but Trump is so odious he cannot even carry the right wing of the right wing party he leads. He is a disgustign human being , serial BS, racist arsehole of the lowest order,
I would even vote for Jamby before Trump
What if they release the n-word video and he still wins??
It'll be like Brexit but 10x worse, causing all the moronic racists to assume they've won.

You don't get to vote though. All the people I've spoken to who *will* be voting find that both are pretty repugnant, in their own unique ways.
Trump is so odious he cannot even carry the right wing of the right wing party he leads
To be fair, a significant part of that is that many of them don't see him as being low tax/small state/conservative enough
That's right - their reluctance to vote for The Donald is that he's not right wing enough for the republicans!
😆“And, in a way, perhaps we have been always heading towards this historic moment. The first female presidential nominee versus the human embodiment of every backwards, condescending, Mad Men-esque boys’ club attitude that has ever existed, rolled into one giant, salivating dick-size-referencing, pussy-grabbing warthog in a red power tie.“I’ll put it this way: if American democracy is a computer game, and Hillary is completing women’s 100-year quest to get to the Oval Office, it kind of makes sense that this would be the final boss.”
HAHAHAHAHAHATo be fair
The real tragedy is that the US public are going to have to pick one of them, regardless of the outcome, nobody wins 🙁
I just cannot fathom how the political system has managed to become so broken, so utterly divorced from reality, so openly childish, and so filled with hatred, vitriol and lies. It seems an impossible task to turn back from this now, what on earth is the next election after this one going to be like!?! 🙁
Still wondering why Trump thinks its ok not to release his Returns as he is "under audit", whereas Buffet seems to find it a very easy thing to do..................................................................

Agreed but
"if you dont like either candidate remember whose the grossest"
From the Rainbow video GrahamS [ I think] posted up

Because most people don't understand tax codes and he knows a lot of people will just accept this excuse as true. And when people point out it's a lie, well, they would wouldn't they, they're pro-Hillary.
“if American democracy is a computer game, and Hillary is completing women’s 100-year quest to get to the Oval Office, it kind of makes sense that this would be the final boss.”
This is genius. But just telefrag him!
Buffet is being very very economical with the truth.
Beats being an out and out liar though. Maybe not in Jamba world?

And of those I've spoken to its a no brainer. Trump is not the answer to any problem including the I need to piss and that man is on fire should I?
Shudder to think why trumps daughter didn't want a kiss from dad after the debate
Shudder to think why trumps daughter didn't want a kiss from dad after the debate
I think that was debunked in a fact check article I read saying that it was a bad angle and in video she's greeting someone else as her dad is walking towards her. Haven't seen the other angle though.
I think that was debunked in a fact check article
I think we know what Trump would say about fact check articles... one standard for all
About a week before the election I would guess. The polls seem to be following a 2 monthly cycle of Trump dipping heavily and bouncing back 8 weeks later. I would think they would try and hit him just before the next bounce back to make sure it never happensWhen will the n-word recording be released then?
I suspect both camps are trying to dig out as much nasty shit about each other as possible
Trump really has dragged the election into the gutter, the problem is that, as weve seen with brexit, politicians using racist/xenophobic hate speak etc emboldens the nastier elements of society.

Next election - return of bLiar and "things can only get better" 😉
Ok Hilary is bad, very bad, but if either the Repubs or Labour think that Donny and Jezza are fit for high office then neither deserve support.
A very, very sorry state of affairs especially given rising geopolitical risk.
Level of debate in America?
"God can use this man.. God can use anybody; He used the harlots" 😯
Prof Sean Harper for president, if only for the facial expressions from 40 seconds on
GrahamS - MemberLevel of debate in America?
Seems legit.

Respect to her for keeping a straight(ish) face.
It's like Spitting Image but with real people.
Just been reading this article in the Washington Post
Link
Trump’s blistering method is being orchestrated by Stephen K. Bannon, the campaign’s chief executive and former head of the acerbic conservative website Breitbart, who has become a near-omnipresent counselor at Trump’s side. He has urged Trump not to worry about any cleavage in party ranks and instead to target Clinton.
Can you spot the line that made me titter?
This campaign reminds me of the novel Interface
In the book, there's a happy ending as the cynical, manipulating campaign manager ends up in jail and the down to earth, good VP succeeds the President.
If only life worked like that.
Murray - MemberIn the book, there's a happy ending as the cynical, manipulating campaign manager ends up in jail and the down to earth, good VP succeeds the President.
Better not mention the bit where one of the presidential candidates has a stroke, and they sieze the opportunity to inject a microchip into his brain so they can control the world. MAKES YOU THINK.
Glen Beck has come out for Hilary as the Moral Choice
I cant get my head round that being and endorsement or a condemnation
“It is not acceptable to ask a moral, dignified man to cast his vote to help elect an immoral man who is absent decency or dignity,” Beck writes. “If the consequence of standing against Trump and for principles is indeed the election of Hillary Clinton, so be it. At least it is a moral, ethical choice.
interesting times
Glenn Beck:
Whenever I hear anyone supporting Trump I wonder if they have spent even a second considering why he's running. Are they really stupid enough to believe he's doing it for their benefit, rather than his own? Every time someone's backing him up it reminds me of an episode of South Park where Cartman says 'just give me a minute to go put some make up on so I can look pretty while you F#CK me!'
I am convinced his advisors are now playing it for laughs straight after the "Tapes " they get him to hover behind Hilary in the debate looking a bit rapey.
As to why he is running perhaps he thinks if he can get elected POTUS he can avoid his date with Jane and Tiffany Doe in December.
I found out today Woody Guthrie's landlord was Fred Trump - Donald's father. Woody sang a song about him being a racist. Some things don't change.
Ah, you see, anyone who disagrees with the leftie convention is a Troll, now?
or perhaps more accurately either a Troll, racist or stupid.
Is that what you think it is? I've certainly moved a long way left since I first posted on STW, but I still don't think anybody has yet accused me of being part of the leftie convention. You still haven't answered the question BTW.
Scott Adams (Dilbert creator) nails it again::
Trump is trying to make America a bit more like Switzerland. Clinton is trying to make America less like Switzerland. Spend a day in Switzerland and tell me who has the better plan
http://blog.dilbert.com/post/151599421561/quick-debate-reactions-from-switzerland
Thanks for that - I won't make the mistake of assuming Scott Adams knows what he's talking about again. CBA to deconstruct all of that, but let's just look at the gun issue which seems to be quite a big one for Adams - gun culture in Switzerland is totally different to that in the US, and comparing the two on that basis is so fallacious as to be absurd.

Hurrah. its almost as if some of us have been saying thats the problem for years

I'm wondering whether they - and we - are missing something here. Maybe Trump isn't going after the undecideds because he's realised he can't win them over. Maybe there's a different strategy here - could it be a combination of 1) trying to prevent the undecideds from voting for Clinton even if they won't vote for him by slinging enough mud at her 2) making sure the turnout of his core support is as large as possible by appealing to them as strongly as possible and making them hate Clinton so much.
Could influencing the turnout in this way be sufficient for him to win despite having less support overall and the issue of the demographics of the swing states? It does make me think of the Brexit vote - I'm not sure if this one has been analysed thoroughly, but I had a feeling of dread with that after passing polling stations and seeing the numbers voting in areas where I'd expect the majority to vote leave.
Hurrah. its almost as if some of us have been saying thats the problem for years
That the problem in the US is the culture around guns rather than the ownership of them? Well that's clearly part of the problem - the trouble is it's the sort of thing which is used to justify the suggestion that the only way to solve the problem is to change the culture, when controlling gun ownership better would clearly also solve the problem. The fact that Switzerland manages fine with gun ownership rates not much more than half that of the US doesn't provided any justification for the idea that the US problem can be solved without reducing gun ownership.
Though enough of that diversion - are you actually agreeing with me that the comparison between Switzerland and the US on the basis of gun ownership is spurious, hence that [s]Dilbert[/s] Adams is talking cobblers? (don't worry, I'm not expecting a coherent reply - like all my questions to you it's effectively to make a point rather than elicit an answer)
Why does a man with so much money wear such nasty ill-fitting suits?
Is that also a rhetorical question THM? I'm assuming the answer you're after is that he's tasteless.
I guess so. He looks like he is wearing a sack most of the time.
will the n-word tapes finish him or just excite his base even more?
assuming he doesnt win, more rep.s will have to ditch him and face the trump nutters wrath in the senate elections...
