Im afraid it's always women and children first in our house. Only then can I spunk the rest on bike bits.

Buy the forks in the sales. Its not what you have spent its what you have saved. Then use what you have saved to decorate with. It always works in our house.

Get a F and B colour chart. Get the colour(s) copied down at Crown Paints. With money saved, buy forks. Obviously.

A year ago my house badly needed decorating. So I bought a new NAS.

Send your daughter to live with her grandparents and buy the forks

How about paint reuse to paint the house and then buy the forks.

You then just have to sacrifice riding time to paint

Can you just white emulsion - it'll refresh and work wonders.

Decorate the house then use leftover paint to give your old forks a coat. They will look great and you will feel like you have new forks ๐Ÿ™‚

A few tubs of emulsion won't break the bank, surely ? Enlist a mate to help and unless it's a massive flat you'll be able to give the whole place a coat in a weekend and you'll feel a whole load better about it.

(please don't look at the decor in my place, I hate being called a hypocrite)

Is this what you do to your forks then?

Depends do you need new forks - ie you have no bike or just want

If the former get forks if the later discuss with your wife then capitulate

Get the forks if you want them. The sprog will remember the love in the house, not the design decisions. We grew up with hideous 70's brown & orange wallpaper and a continuous smog of cigarette smoke. And I have only good memories.
