Twas in WH smiths reading shop today, and a few new cycling mags i hadnt heard of before, strangely smaller size than normal, thicker paper than mbuk, and mbr, but lot less written content, and seemingly a lot more pictures, and the prices over 10 quid each.

For what is basicly a picture book.

Who pays 10 quid for a toilet read.

£10 are you talking about Rouleur or Privateer?

Apparantly they're not magazines, £10.00 for a mag would, of course be utterly ridiculous.

No, they're periodicals, so a tenner is perfectly reasonable for something that compliments and enhances your lifestyle choice.

Oh i don't know...

Went into WH Smiths on sunday, MsD owed me some money so i said "buy me that copy of Singletrack" She looked at the cover price, winced and said OK..

Got to the checkout, seems Smiths in Rochdale haven't updated their stock controls so issue 73 is still £4.50 🙂

and makes you broke, and goes for recycling after a read.

They're mags that come out less often, have far fewer pages of adverts covering the production costs and more pages of paid for original content rather than regurgitated press releases, and product shots of un-tested nicknacks. That costs more.

But buying picture books about hobbies isn't compulsory
