this thread is getting me far to excitably nostalgic!

before i run off to dig out my joe bloggs, dust of my kickers and try and score some doves, one last contribution - happy memories from shelleys in stoke, sasha and dave seaman as residents, didn't get much better

Here's 45 minutes of DJ Moggy from the Hippodrome in Middleton
Definitely no pop tunes on this

Just pick any of Stu Allan's OSN playlists on Mixcloud.

It's what I use when I'm on the rollers.

Not a massive fan of any of them to be honest......apart from Little Fluffy Clouds which is an absolute belter!

As an aside to the thread there is a documentary rental on iTunes at the moment called "in ecstasy" for the princely sum of 99p, I can't vouch as to whether or not it is worth watching but as it has Joris Voorn in it i am currently downloading it for t'nights viewing…….now where is that stuff i stashed after new year?……………

A film i can heartily recommend is

Doc Scott - NHS - Grooverider Natty mix. To throw a little darkness in there.

If you like this sort of thing you need megabass 1. I still play it at least once a week. 4 perfect mixes all cut together absolutely brilliantly. 1990 I think. It's on YouTube now but I paid a FORTUNE for a cd when my cassette player ate my only copy years ago.

The selection that you've gone for are kind of pop tunes that ran alongside the genuine rave scene of the time. Fine if that's your thing...
For two tunes that build up and then, 'kin 'ave it, -

Hard Floor - Acperience 1
DJ Scott Project - U I've got a feeling

Great Idea for a post though !

My previous criticism was way too harsh. KLF's What time is love was an absolutely huge anthem at the first raves. A lot of the more commercial stuff from that period still makes me nostalgic for those times when dance music and raves really felt like some sort of revolution. Dunno if kids will ever get to experience that kind of thing again. Shame.

If polynomial C isn't on it you've done it wrong.

I'm sure I've got loads of Fantazia/Rezerection/Bass Generator cassettes that I bought from the Barralands somewhere.

I was too young to go to the events but royally abused my ear drums.

I genuinely think this is the the worst thread ever on stw! Thanks very much for costing me the last hour listening to so many old memories with headphones on that I found in my bedside drawer rather than going to pissing sleep! So much for the early ride....

Misjah and Tim - Access.

After the OP's cut-off date, but a track I remember very fondly from Sex, Love & Motion at the Soundshaft.
