We have the army doing checks on flood defences at the moment ๐Ÿ™„
unbelievably 6 of them have managed to either break bones or incapacitate themselves. All with in 6 weeks, major danger seems to be jumping over gates. Forget your elaborate defences just put gates up.

Me, I'd blame the farm gates. Usually sagged, all the weight on the bolt, bodged up with barbed wire and standing in a swamp. The poor squaddies aren't allowed to drive a tank through, so jump over.

I'm surprised they haven't done a dynamic risk assessment and stopped them jumping the gates instead they have to deploy bridge builders to get over them.

Special forces, innit. Very hush hush.

Bizarre.

I was taught how to get out of the back of a four-tonner 'properly' while in the TA. Easy to mock, but if it prevents sprained ankles of broken legs then it's a good thing.

I'd put money on it being young squaddies jumping over gates in a non-SOP manner, just because the SNCO isn't watching and they can. ๐Ÿ˜‰
