Puddle jumpers.....

Brings back memories of being car sick as a kid with mum and dad chain smoking and the Diane lurching round bends....

I leant to drive in a 2cv (my dad used one for his landscaping business as a waagon for his tools)..

Never forget aged 17, passed test, took mates for drive and we had to cross a dual carriageway. Foot down, car hardly moving across the road and a car bearing down on us fast. All my mates proceeded to properly scream like Jessie's....we made it across thankfully.

Great fun to drive, cornering hilarious...

My first ever car was a Dyane 6 in maroon. Awesome car.
Me too.
Me also. Great car especially as I was proper poor. Don't ever go on a hilly stretch of motorway on a windy day when it's busy. Mind you do then realise that the seats are easy to wash down. Was sad when floor finally fell out of mine.

A friend back home built this. Could just about do the mile to the shop and back for milk on a tank of fuel, before they built speed bumps anyway.

I like quiky cars but the kind of money being quoted is frankly rediculous for essentially a rusty corrugated sardine tin.

I used to walk past a specialist based near Twickenham rugby ground on my way to school every day. Didn't like them back then but appreciate the classic novelty now. To a point

I'm a huge 2CV fan and have had several souped up versions over the years, including building a Viper with a Ami super chassis and 1300cc flat 4 under the bonnet, a 650cc version which was an engine from the later Visa, with full electronic ignition that I had to add into the bell housing.

Oh and a Lomax running another 650 with twin Amals.

I've re chassised cars over a long weekend before and think they're brilliant motors.

These days tho the prices are going silly so I've gone for the better French car I now have a Renault 4, I've just sold my last 4, which had a larger engine and carb and went well enough, but have now bought a standard low mileage 850cc lovely little car.

I remember a guy in the Boro in the 90s who'd put some sort of Rover K-series engine in a 2CV. It looked quick.

I also built a Ami Super chassis'd 1300 GSA engine/5 speed Dyane with a pair of twin Dellorto's - it was the best fun car I've ever had. Sounded awesome too! It was so low that the chassis would hit cats eyes if you were two up and hard on the brakes!

I've also had a Barbour 4x4 Dyane, a 1300/5 speed Ami Super Service van, a 2CV race car and a few standard cars - I love 'em. There is lots of clever engineering in them too.

Pete of Sparrow Automotive is one of my best mates and he will be the first person I'll call when I win the lottery - those BMW engine cars really do shift - 600KG and 110BHP!

I followed a 2cv just a couple of weeks ago, complete with tow bar!

Actually see a few locally on the road, but this is one of the most sparsely populated counties in England......

MrsMC arrived at our wedding in a 2CV - her godmothers husband was president of the owners club, so it was free!

Always on the lookout, but more tempted by a Renault 4. Not ruled out brining one over. Weekend bike car.

A mate's g/f had one, and it wasn't unusual to have four of us in it going to and from gigs, approaching roundabouts without lifting off, everyone leaning like in a boat to stop it from falling over, great fun; while it wasn't that fast, once it was up to speed you just kept at that speed even around roundabouts and four up it still did the same sort of speed.
A g/f of mine bought one as her first car, and she loved it to bits, we drove miles and miles in that little car, great in the summer, roof pushed back, side windows up, air vents under the screen wide open, I have very fond memories of that little orange 2CV. 😀
