My Company BUPA medical did my cholesterol test wrong and GP is doing it again tomorrow. Fig was 5.6. Do I need to fast or can I have breakfast first ( not a fry up ๐Ÿ™‚ )

When I had my first test it was at work. A colleague is a champion rower and trains pretty seriously. I on the other hand am around 2st overweight, had just returned to work after 2wks holiday.
Guess who had the lower cholesterol level?

Fasting is recommended; clear fluids, black tea/coffee ok

Ah well, I'd better not have those crackers and cheddar with a cup of tea ๐Ÿ˜†

There's some suggestions that its not necessary but as cholesterol is synthesised by the liver from dietary nutrients some parts of the test, particularly triglycerides, can be affected if you don't fast
