I have an old Garmin I dont use anymore that cost 100 quid new. PM me if you are interested in buying it and I'll send you all the details.

either an app for your smartphone (as appropriate obviously)

or something like a garmin etrex H which can be got dirt cheap on ebay or here.

If your phone doesn't have GPS then a Bluetooth GPS and app on your phone may work. £10-£20 for a cheap GPS unit and probably nothing for the software..

Small enough to mount on the bars & makes a great bike computer too
