only turned the rads on briefly to make sure they still work, don't need bleeding and don't need to do the "tap the stuck TRV pin with a hammer" trick.

We've started using the fire the last few nights. Still sat in shorts and T-shirt though 😉

Oh hell no! I'm still hanging the washing outside (London). It's getting pretty chilly on the morning though! 🙂

Scraped frost off the car this weekend on our North facing, ex railway cutting street.
Caved this evening, heating is on.

Still in shorts and a t shirt although it's pretty mild in Cumbria; the weather looks good for the next week or so aswell. Summer seems to be dragging on, still jsut wearing shorts/jersey for cycling, as soon as that changes then I know winter'll have arrived.

I was informed in July our heating was on, thermostat cranked as high as it would go to dry a t-shirt on the radiator - kids for you 😉

Anyway, ours fired itself up at the weekend, hadn't been on since it's going to reach 18c this week they say.

I kept the summer (4.5tog) duvet on all last year and the one before - we were so used to living in an old cold windy terrace house that our new place with double glazing and insulation continually feels really warm.

Our CH has 2 settings, off or on. Off being 0deg & on being 34deg. It's currently Off, surprisingly.

Sorry, don't mean to offend, but heating isn't a big willy contest. You put it on when the inside of your house gets cooler than you want it to be
.

This. It's certainly not our highest monthly bill so not overly concerned about usage.

Our's has one of these trigger point thermostats. In reality they are a bit laggy I find so usually have a couple of points dialled in , so probably 19 (at 5) for coming home and moving about and 21 for evening sofa idleness.

Old house was solid fuel so need it on from about now or no hot water or heat.

Moved into new home in the summer and put the heating on for the first time last week to see if it worked. Made some interesting noises and warmed some of the radiators a bit but clearly not right - someone came to look at it and I got a very pretty desist from use certificate for it being borked and effectively a giant carbon monoxide generator. New boiler on the way - now feeling happy to be alive (boiler 6ft from head when asleep) and smug I tested it before actually it was actually needed. Also I don't own it so the painful bill is not my concern. Bloke that signed off its gas safety certificate last month probably not feeling quite so smug.

I love the cold

I don't actually mind being cold but I'd rather be comfortable, like in between hot & cold. My Mrs however can't do cold cos then she just sneezes all the time. It's easier being hot than listen to that racket!

I've just got the rebate for last year - I pay 100 euros a month in advance and got a rebate of 790 euros.

The heating won't be going on until November if I am lucky. That said, my mum is coming to visit for Christmas, so no rebate next year. 🙁

We leave ours on all year as its thermostat controlled, only kicked in once over June/July/August/Sept. If it drops cold enough then it will kick in, don't see the point in turning it off completely.

Evenings are always boiling in our house - telly is enough to keep the living room toasty.

Heating is on though this last week but still ruddy boiling. Just knocked the programmable thermostat down a degree across the board.

Pipes are now full of bloody bubbles though.

Heating still off (partly because we're VERY low on oil) but one of the stoves was lit for the first time last night.

Had it on on Saturday night, but probably still a few weeks away from routinely having it on. We're not trying to win any prizes though, if we've already got jumpers on and it still feels cold then on it goes.

I've only needed to have my bathroom rad come on these past couple of days, bit chilly at 6am otherwise. I don't think it will be long before I'll need heating in other rooms in the evening.

Ours is always on. Thermostat is set to 18C day / 13.5 night whilst we're at home. Frost protection whilst we're away.

Has come on once this autumn so far.

On 1st October but not called upon by the thermostats until this evening.

No reason to suffer.

Had the woodburner on for the last couple of nights, but only because I've got a new woodburner.

And some of those Blazer logs.

One of my favourite things- the smell of hot dust off the radiators when the central heating comes on for the first time in a year. MMMMMMM.

Just put the winter quilt on and closed an odd window. However Sunday was BBQ time, so really not that cold

Yes 🙄 bled the radiators on Sunday, heating on for hour in the morning and evening.
Flue swept and re-cemented the stove pipe today so that'll be up and running tomorrow.

Mine went on Monday for the first time. It's been on frost protection since about April, but I turned it off at the weekend in preparation for Monday up at 5:30, 2° at 8am on the way to work) it's set to 17, but I've been knocking it up to 18.5, just to stop me reaching for a blanket in the morning. I'd just go back to sleep then.

No CH here, just a couple of storage heaters that won't be needed for another month or so.
