Seb Loeb (broke a leg and missed about 5 rallies one year after a DH crash (still won the title though!))
Kris Meeke
Dani Sordo
Ken Block

Seems like guys who like driving cars fast off road like riding bikes off road too!

Also, George North has taken the Wales rugby team off road in the Alps on a training camp at least once (doubt it was much more than paths though, so not sure that counts!) (He's got a Geometron though)

Pretty sure Lewis Hamilton bought one of Greg Minnaar's V10s at a charity auction once. He's definitely dabbled in off road riding, but I think the v10 would be a bit much for him!
Also, Danny Ricciardo and Brendon Hartley as well as Mark Webber for the Antipodean MTB/F1 stars

Oh, and Top Gear presenter Chris Harris, he used to have an orange 5 which fitted snugly into the back of his Ferrari FF!

Yeah Wibber infamously had to start a season with a pinned ankle after an MTB crash and took a few races to get up to full speed. I don't remember if it was one of the ones when he was fighting Vettle for the Championship.

Alonso is not only a keen cyclist he nearly ended up running a pro team.

Outside of Formula One, Alonso is passionately interested in road bicycle racing. Alonso's friends include professional cyclists Alberto Contador, Miguel Indurain and Samuel Sánchez. He cycles himself in order to maintain his fitness for Formula 1.[211]

Alonso hinted at running a cycling team in the 2011 edition of the Tour de France with Contador leading the team.[212] In early September 2013, Alonso announced his intentions to rescue the insolvent Euskaltel–Euskadi cycling team, reaching an agreement to buy their UCI World Tour licence in order to form a Spanish professional cycling team using many of its existing riders.[213] On 23 September, however, it was announced that negotiations over the deal had collapsed. Alonso still plans to create a cycling team for the 2015 season.[214] In January 2014, Cycling Weekly reported that either Peter Sagan or Contador would sign with Alonso's prospective team – tentatively named the Fernando Alonso Cycling Team (FACT)[215] – for the 2015 season, and that former world champion Paolo Bettini was leading the creation of the team.[216] It has also been pointed out that, if the Cannondale team plan to vacate their UCI ProTeam licence, FACT could be fast-tracked to the highest level of professional cycling.[217] However, in November 2014 Alonso confirmed that the team would not compete in 2015 "due to a number of circumstances".[218]

It was suggested that the fact the team was going to be run out of Malta may have meant tax avoidance reasons were part of the reason for doing it.

I saw Boris on his bike once.

I was waiting to walk across Bank in The City and he was right there in front of me, just setting off from the lights.

"Alright Boris" I said, and he gave me a nod and a smile.

At the time I thought that was kind of cool, the Major of London/politician cycling between meetings.... a man of the people, so to speak.

Little did I know he turn out to be the biggest self serving get of them all.

I'd stick my brolley through his front wheel if I saw him again.

Nope, when he missed 4 rallies in 2006 it was definitely mountain bike.

that bloke from the 80s who used to grant childrens wishes on tele, after he died some bike company bought some of his bikes. I wonder where they are now?

He had a VW California campervan too in a very distinctive colour. There's a thread on a forum somewhere where the proud owner of a campervan in said colour bought from some Isle-of-Taxdodge holding company came to the realisation of its provenance. Yes, that's a campervan. With beds....

The official line at the time.

Edit: I've now checked he was riding a KTM motorbike.

Il avoue quelques années plus tard dans son autobiographie avoir été au guidon d'une moto de marque KTM lors de l'accident puis d'avoir maquillé ce point de détail pour ne pas s'attirer les foudres de son employeur
