Just bought an Alfa 156 and its got the bog standard built in CD player in it. I currently have a stereo that automatically plays the songs off my itunes via bluetooth on it but I can't use my car steering wheel controls, does anyone know a reasonably cheap bluetooth set up with an adaptor for the steering controls?
A pioneer DEH-X8700BT, about £130ish, it's got a connection for steering wheel control with Bluetooth phone and music and a usb lead for charging stuff, just fitted one in mine and it's great,
You need to fit the mic and get and fit a dab aerial which is pretty easy, and you might need an fm aerial plug adapter, I got a Halfords stick on dab aerial and a plug adapter for £20 and fitted it myself,
The nice thing is it's not covered in loads of buttons and the display has a plain simple setting so there's not a firework display going on while you're driving
I think there's a cheaper version without a CD player if you're not bothered about those.
Just had a look, that's bloody brilliant!
I've got the driveless version ie non cd player, as I didn't see the point as I was connecting to my iPod. It's brilliant, Bluetooth to my phone steering wheel controls work with it, cheap little interface cable, full connectivity, clear phonecalls brilliant.
Not sure if it's the same make or not, but it's very similar, but I've got a magnetic DAB antenna on my car, and it's made a huge difference, I used the supplied little stick-on window antenna, which worked ok, but there were places where the signal just dropped out, and others where there was no signal at all, a bit like Radio 2 on FM all around where I live.
I had it fitted, because access to the back of my head-unit is very awkward, and I wasn't confident in doing it properly.
I have yet to find any significant loss of signal in most places I go, just the occasional out of the way spots.
