Is the fuel line car specific or can you get a universal one size fits all line?

You can buy it by the length. Just need to know the diameter. Try Unipart

Cheers, I thought so, just wanted to know why my car couldn't have been fixed yesterday. Unipart a bit too difficult to get to. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Depends on the age of the car to be honest. Old bangers used standard fuel line, newer cars often have rigid plastic pipe with quick release connectors. Each section is specific to the make and model.

Most modern cars have some of the fuel line in a specially molded shape. You can replace it with standard hose and I have before but I suspect a garage might want to use the correct part.

24 hours later and no sign of the fuel line! Am I living in a dream world where, more or less 20yrs ago, we could get any part within 24hrs? I'm sure there were very few parts that took longer than this time. I was working for Brown Brothers at the time and might have been brainwashed. I used to run the van that guaranteed delivery of a part within 1hr FFS!
