Interestingly down in NZ they have passed new law that requires all drivers to indicate their intentions at roundabouts exits (ie indicate to go past an exit, then indicate to use an exit).
About time they caught up with the UK.
Well its already a requirement in the highway code.
car has been taken away by the garage, having an opportunity to check under the car and behind the wheels has left me feeling much more confident about it not being a right off (unless they value the car lower than expected)... the metal rod with the bolt on it for adjusting the tracking is bent but no other visible damage, body work damage to the door hasnt effected the electric windows or central locking, damage to the wing has raised the bonnet slightly but no damage to the bonnet itself... and the engine starts and runs absolutely fine, gear box works too.
the courtesy car is a brand new spanking little citroen c1, shiny and clean, becca just took it for a spin around the block a couple of times and down a major road with a few roundabouts... calm, sensible driving. no panicking or sudden breaking when other cars were driving aggressively... she's back on the horse so to speak ๐
should hear about the decision on if they're going fix it within 24 hours.
what car is it? W reg is pretty old now so expect them to write it off.
If you feel this is not justified you can force them to have it fixed I believe as they have to put you back in the situation you were in before the crash and a low mileage good condition W reg will be near impossible to find.
Other option is get your own private quote (not an insurance is paying so hike it up quote) and consider buying back the car cheap and repairing it yourself.
I dont feel "back on the horse", im petrified of driving tomorrow.
I know it'll be deemed my fault, just annoying cos I'd never have pulled out if he was in right lane and indicating!
I know theyll probably write off too cos it's so old. It's a Peugeot 206, old colour blue too which will hike up the price too.
I feel sick and can't sleep again, every time I shut my eyes I see it happen again. Tis my last week at work, so much pressure to have to go in to work ๐
W reg 206 - bah just let it go and get something newer and move on.
Easier said than done I know but they will most likely write it off.
Becca - please don't beat yourself up, none of us are perfect people although in our riding dreams we may well be! Be positive, confront driving with the determination you show when you ride. ๐
You can do it and you will do it. Good luck. ๐
