Have a pair of EBC mitts that I use as spares.
Not been worn that much but the Velcro fastening just doesn't work anymore.
Very annoying tbh.
The hooks just attatch straight onto the glove material.
I tend to wash them after every ride as I'm prone to skin infections otherwise.
Anything I can do?

Try brushing the soft part of the velcro with a wire brush to raise the loops?

The loop often gets filled with bits of fluff and stuff.
