Hi All

We are in the process of rebuilding our conservatory out of wood. The wall frames are all done and up but we now need to get the roof sorted.

We want to use Corotherm sheets but the suppliers we have spoken to say it needs to be used with the appropriate aluminium roof bar systems. We don't want to use this as we'd like it to be all wood.

So can Corotherm sheets just be fitted into machined wooden roof joists in the same way glass can? I assume just a rubber seal above and below the sheets is needed, or would you use putty?

Sorry if this seems a simple question!

Cheers

I don't see why it couldn't be used with wood frames, although I would be tempted to fit the sheets on top of your rafters/glazing bars rather than set them into a rebate. You wouldthen cap the joins with a batten of suitable dimensions.

I use a similar approach when glazing oak frame wall and roof panels, using glazing tape and silicon sealant to ensure no leaks and the glass is effectively independent of the oak / wood frame, so it can move as much as it wants and not damage the glazing panels.
