As per the above looking for a great family friendly campsite with nice amenities (playground always a winner) in NE Yorkshire (will be in a tent) with hood access to a beach and preferably some local bridleways / footpaths.

We stayed here and thought it just fine.

Village below (about a field away) had a decent shop and pub from memory. Keep going down and you are in Robin Hood Bay. Cycle trail on an old railway towards Scarborough too.

I've stopped at broadings farm just outside Whitby, about a 15 min walk into town. Child is grown up so I dont recall any clamber for a park, but there was plenty of familys camping and the shower block was top notch

Camped a fair bit with the now not so small antigees and they vote Hooks House as the best camp site stayed at

It's a bit different as facilities not immediate but views great and lots of walkable / cyclable stuff

Enjoy

Do you know what it's not to everyone's taste but the new Haven site at flamborough is bang on. Stayed there two weeks ago. Great walk to Thornwick Bay from the site, loads of amenities ànd just a good laugh.
