So the outlaws landed for Christmas day, it's been pretty straight forward's until the evening tele takeover.

FiL is watching Coronation Street which is as miserable as ever and on the other tele the MiL has got Call the Midwife on, how on earth has this shite even been commissioned ????

I appear to have inadvertently got rid of the M-I-L earlier than expected by announcing after dinner that there was "NO WAY" we were watching Call The Midwife tonight. She never even stopped long enough for her 38th cup of tea before she scuttled off back down the M56.

I hope it's on again next year now.

Bed early cos of call the bloody midwife, how utterly depressing is that in Christmas night. Even the musuc for God's sake.

Bed now about to watch an uninterrupted episode of the grand tour on my tablet with my headphones in.

I cannot fathom this Call the Midwife shite.

An endless parade of misery intwined with trite 'Brexity' 1950s/60s cod nostalgia and an 'uplifting' moral message at the end.

People who like this voted Leave. I am convinced of it.

"Ooh arrr, life were 'arder back then, but we was 'appy. And there were none of them............eevah".

"Cor blimey, guv'nah".

Etc. etc.

Make Call the midwife mildly more bearable by silently reminding yourself that you've seen the nun's tits. 🙂

Ditto! Was it the one by Tony Rettman?

Back from the parents' kids asleep, poking about on here, drinking tea and eating jelly beans, life is good right now.

We also had a family family sing along in the van to this on the way to Christmas lunch.

The mistake is handing over your remote to guests. Do you let them sleep in your bed and drive your car as well?

We escaped the almost comedy Christmas dinner at the in-laws.

I'm thoroughly depressed. I've eaten and drunk too much, feel fat and lethargic and am convinced I've frittered away several months training since the weekend.

Watching First Dates :-/

Currently sat with the folks, my mother, bless her, has the most shocking taste in television. Corry, EastEnders and Emerdale. Now sitting through two hours of Victoria, what a load of shite.

After looking at the TV schedule for the Christmas period I would like to say thank-you Jesus for giving us Netflix, Kodi and Amazon Prime.

I’ve just found all that all the shit I’ve been forced to endure was recorded.

😀

Queen or Wood?

Equally horrific, but I just wondered.

I wS having a post dinner snooze and I was trying to figure out what the squeaky noise was.
It was my host highlighting things in the radio times. He must have circled 4 things on every page to record.
If I can find one thing a week that’s worth watching it’s a result.

We don't watch much tv, if at all, however seasonal exceptions made for Doctor Who and Snow White and the Huntsman, both of which were fab.

You do realise different people like different things?

I see people confusing opinion with fact here......

Those kinda programmes are designed to make the watcher comatose, they’re written that way to keep the watcher indoors.

I kinda like em’ for that reason alone. 😆

All TV programmes are written that way.

Because that’s where where all the TVs are.

Absolutely, really enjoyed both of them. Did watch Oliver!, because my g/f likes it, and can sing along with all the songs, but I was browsing stuff on the pad and only paying vague attention to it.

Even the most cursory glance at the TV schedules over Christmas will remind you why god invented Netflix, Amazon Prime and on-demand box sets.

Is there a Miranda Christmas Special? I bet there is, isn’t there?

We spent a fantastic Christmas evening binge watching Game of Thrones. Nothing says Christmas like tits, dragons and massive gory blood-fests 😀
