The little Thai restaurant on Portland st is good, little yang sing not bad but as Mingus says, the buffets are dire, sorry

don't bother, go to Siam Smiles Thai Supermarket/Cafe on George Street or I Am Pho a couple of doors down.

great food and pretty cheap too.

Nothing wrong with the one opposite the Novotel on Portland Street. I always put my African visitors in the Novotel and they love the Chinese buffet; they can't believe you are allowed to eat as much as you can manage so they will eat two or three piled-up plate loads then go for a couple of servings of sweet before staggering back over to the hotel and collapsing.
