Brewers question got a proper job brew nearly ready for bottling how much sugar to add calculation says 100grammes/3.5 ounces, can I assume less is good more is bad

Adjusting based on the temp of the beer is critical. You need half as much priming sugar at fridge temps than you do at room temp (there is more co2 already in solution at lower temps).
Batch prime if you can (add boiled sugar solution to bottling bucket and mix well, being careful not to splash), you'll have far more consistent results.
