Yep. Looks like all government ministers are now essentially just spokesmen for Dom. All policy is being written by him in number 10

What I read into this is that Sajid was being advised by his team about how much money he could realistically allow Boris to spend in the upcoming budget. Boris obviously didn't like the number he was given as he's been making promises left, right and centre that it was now obvious he couldn't deliver. Sajid refused to override his advisor's recommendations but Boris didn't want to be seen to be sacking a man he had recently thrown all his support behind so came up with the wheeze to persuade him to sack is advisory team and replace them with one that was more in line with the thinking of Boris. Sajid didn't like this so tendered his resignation, thus also removing his team of advisors. Boris could then parachute in a more friendly Chancellor and team that will allow him to spend what he has promised without being seen to be nasty and sack Sajid.

Basically Boris is engineering it so that he's surrounded by 'Yes' men that will bow to his superior position. When things go tits-up he can then hide behind them by saying he was advised incorrectly and that it's not his fault. IF your advisors and team never question your motives then what you have is uncontrolled power, which never ends well.

I think we may need to sit this all out and hope Boris is the architect of his own downfall quickly as fighting any of this will be very, very hard to do. With no real opposition the sooner he reveals his true self to everyone the better I fear.

I think you give too much credit to Boris, he's just doing what weaselface Cummings wants. Unfortunately Cummings is marginally more intelligent so the dictatorship will last longer than if it was just Boris.

I reckon it really just boils down to Joris wanting to spunk borrowed cash as much as possible to distract from the real structural damage that Brexit will cause.

Thick as mince Duncan Smith was saying as much the other day.

That's certainly a big part of it.

Yes, but then we'll all have to start paying back the money Boris has spent. 🙁

Boris is an expert at cashing cheques he didnt write...

so borrowing umpteen billions of someone elses money and getting someone else to pay it back to underwrite his ambition to stay in power holds no fear for Bojo

Boris Johnson’s spokesman has refused to say whether the prime minister thinks black people have lower IQs on average

The fact he has to asked...

I'll see your new low, and raise/lower you the advisor apparently suggesting compulsory contraception/forced sterilisation for the lower orders - if I learnt to do links I'd take you there.

Dr Adam Rutherford on Twitter (genius scientist/geneticist/author) has ripped Andrew Sabinsky and his cod psychology apart on twitter, quite amusing to read his take down on johnsons/cummings newly employed gobshite.

Just shared the BBC story on this on my Facebook feed, just to see which of my Tory voting associates would bite.

Only one to come back so far feels that this is still a much better option than Diane Abbott as Home Secretary.

I've asked him to publicly clarify his own position re racist and sexist remarks, and eugenics. His employer might be interested in any public comments.

The Sabinsky is spot on, he just needs to flip the model and only apply it to the Tory party...

Simples.

Sabisky doesn't exactly look like a prime example of the master race either. Weird how the people most keen on eugenics always seem to look like they are more towards the shallow end of the gene pool.

I find it remarkable that, given the aryan ideal they were promoting, how no one said to Goebbels or Himmler "er hang on a minute lads". Or perhaps they did and ended up dead.

Cod psychology mixed with a selective reading of some of history's 'edgier' philosophers is a dangerous thing. And we have a population where a large proportion think Joris Bohnson is a genius because he knows a bit of Latin. Scary combination.

Jesus H Christ.

It's the 21st century and eugenics is being discussed in a way other than pointing out the huge damage and deaths such believes caused.

Not on here I mean but by our elected politicians and advisors. Chilling.

He may well have been put up by Dom to test the elastic limit of the Tory faithful? Cummings has always used this type of approach for example he established that Farage was just far enough off centre for the Tory faithful by monitoring reaction to him and the Brexit party as well as running facebook campaigns to confirm this.

Expect more of this.

Is Spaffs eyeing up a replacement for Chequers with what appears to be the much grander Chevening estate. Handy for Biggin Hill, isn't it private airport of choice for people wanting to get in and out of the UK without excess coverage?

BBC being torn up, already undermined by cabinet refusing to do r4 or newsnight, Johnson avoiding Andrew Neil.

Murdoch launching Times radio as an alternative to R4

Htf that Sabisky idiot was hired, let alone allowed to resign & not fired , is beyond me .

Cummings may have a good grasp of populist triggers, but the psuedo intellectuals using science to justify their hard right views is taking us to a crappy place.

By turning everything into a culture war they've conned millions into voting for all this to happen, believing it's in their interests.

Chickens will come home to roost.

It's just a question of when and just how bad and what form the backlash will take.

We aren't even close to how bad this will all get first though.

Oh, things will get much much worse Poopscoop, but don’t bet on the backlash… the anger will be directed elsewhere (amongst those who voted for/with him in 2016 and 2019 at least) and as long as they look to have a plan to keep the Tories in power, the Vote Leave team will keep control of the Conservative party… and assuming that plan works (who’d bet against them?), they will control the government for a long long time.

I just signed this via Facebook btw

Dear friends,

I just signed the petition "Save Our BBC" and wanted to ask if you could add your name too.

This campaign means a lot to me and the more support we can get behind it, the better chance we have of succeeding. You can read more and sign the petition here:

https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/save-our-bbc-1?bucket=email-blast-16_2_2020_teamreactiveblast&share=f8e84fd5-6e9b-4619-abba-1b490d356c44&source=email-share-button&utm_campaign=blast2020-02-16&utm_source=email

Thank you!

P.S. Can you also take a moment to share the petition with others? It's really easy – all you need to do is forward this email or share this link on Facebook or Twitter:

The Prime Minister has told us that there is nothing of interest in it.

Why would you possibly want more info than that?
