STW has been great for recommendations in the past.

I've just finished A Higher Call and Moonshot following nods from here and in the past Pilgrim and the Spitfire one were good.

What should I think about next?

Outposts or Krakatoa, both by Simon Winchester.

Anything by Ben Macintyre, especially Operation Mincemeat.

Life: A User’s Manual by Georges Perec

Is very good. Requires/rewards the paying of attention.

Read some Don Delillo, working backward in order of popularity of title excluding Americana.

IHN - As you liked Lonesome Dove, have you read The Son by Philipp Meyer?

Also have a troll through and see what others are reading.

I am just finishing A Legacy of Spies by Le Carre.

I picked up The Boy On The Bridge recently and really enjoyed it.  It's a prequel to The Girl With All The Gifts, also worth reading, but my recommended reading order would be Boy, Girl, then the epilogue at the end of Boy (which contains major spoilers for Girl).

''Crossing The Divide By The Teeth Of My Skin' - Jack 'Mustang' MacDuff

'Hard Refuge, Soft Option'  - Gustaf Ølaf

'Gritty McGritface' - Terence Talltail

'A Short Gentleman' - Jon Canter

that last one was the best by far.  Haven't laughed so much at a novel for as long as I can remember
