Does anybody have any experience of non Qettle after-market filters... Need to replace as current is up for 6 month renewal, wondering if there are any non-OEM ones people have used here? Or do I just dip in my hands in my pocket for the full price ones...?

If it's still in warranty get the official one. You can only get them from Qettle so they know if you're buying the genuine ones. We don't bother now and get generic ones that look the same for about £12. I'm not sure how long it will last now - the boiler part is great but the tap itself is a weak link.
Thanks for info. Got a link to the cheap ones? There's loads that look similar but want to make sure.
Re warranty: It's nearly out of warranty. assume the 6mth time requirement is based on hard-water areas, I'm in the North so no limescale issues and assume 6mths is overkill for us.
Tap has been great so far, not missed a beat.
