Was looking at the i3 at a dealer at the weekend...
They had a very nice met grey one - 18 plate, REX
But the salesman reckoned £400 “road tax” as classed as hybrid and >£40000 list price.
If true, that must make the range extender version unsellable????
Its only £400 car tax if its over £40000 and not all REX are. Its aloso only for the first few years then drops to nothing.
They don’t sell it anymore.
Got a feeling the Carplay has a subscription cost after the first year?
Haven’t they realised they’re taking the piss and dropped that, after being called out on it, because every other manufacturer installed it for free as part of the infotainment system?
Can anyone direct me to the appropriate iPhone app that works with the i3
It’s called BMW Connected.
Also it apparently doesn’t work very well at the moment.
It won’t send destinations to my 3 series (or lock/unlock/locate either, but I don’t use that anyway).
My i3 isn’t coming until July which is ageeeeeees away!

Mrs rkk01 picked up a 19 plate i3 yesterday - ex-BMW Corporate car. Was looking for the app that allows you to pre-heat the battery and cabin etc
On batteries, I guess they’ll be lots of different views on charge daily vs run right down and fully recharge???
