Fancy a nice steak with blue cheese sauce tomorrow night. Has anyone got a good or favourite recipe they could share?
No, but you've made me really want one.
Just heat up some double cream and melt the blue cheese into it. Ratio is up to you - less cream will make a thicker, stronger tasting sauce. Season to taste. The best thing about steak IMO is you don't have to mess around with complicated recipes - simple is best. Just get good quality ingredients obviously!
Pop into Waitrose and grab a jar of this

Do your sauce in the same pan as your steak. Cook steak, add some red wine or brandy, burn off alcohol, add some cream, reduce a bit, add blue cheese, Stilton would be my choice, check seasoning but should be fine.
Fry some garlic in butter, add a bit of flour to make a roux then a glass of white wine before you start adding milk to get the consistency you want. Add half and half Stilton and Gorgonzola picante, let them melt and you're good to go. Mustard optional.
..Although obviously when I say mustard's optional, that's a test.
