Yeah trying to get a work night out at the Manchester one. Their website has basically says don't drink, if our staff say you've had a few then no axe.
It's the sort of policy that is fine until....

So, the country where you can be carrying a gun legally into a bar has an issue with some (likely pretty blunt) axes....?

Massive generalisations about where people can carry guns.

Only in some states, the laws vary massively across the place.

so *a joke* made comparing axes in bars with guns has some basis in fact as well as being a (I thought) reasonably funny (in a wry smile, not ha-ha way) statement.

Seems we've analyzed that to death now, can we move on?

I don't know if it's still there but I went to the archery bar in Barcelona a good few years ago. Arrows and alcohol, a truly great combination

Shame it was turned down. Maybe they didn't axe nicely

Getting drunk in a bar and waving your chopper about is also frowned upon in this country.

Apparently.

At the annual Canterbury (Kent) beer festival next to the main barn (it's held on a farm) they have the local archery club giving lessons. Although one has to leave beer on the table as you take your turn. Always amused me.

We’ve done it with my Beaver Scouts Colony.

Ok, the drinks were Robinson’s & the axes were foam.

Yeah, perhaps we should have engaged our brains a bit before chucking stones out of the glass house we're all sitting in.
