Told you.

...and let's not forget, before this goal, Chelsea had the only shot on target.

Yeah if only all teams parked the bus like Chelsea - the prem would be awesome.

Point still stands. Bus parked, or not, LFC hadn't had one shot on target in the first half.

Mourinho, the enemy of good football. But he does know how to get a result.

Like in the NFL. A good defense beats a good offense. Seen in Superbowl after Superbowl.

The challenge of a league is to win most games no matter what the tactics of your opponents, it would be boring if every team played the same way.

Still, only half time, I still expect Liverpool will score, but is also likely that they will become increasingly exposed in defence as they push up field.

Oooh, quick PSA - if you've got a William Hill account, they've stuck a free £5 bet in your account because the site was unavailable on 21st April.

I get that and I do admire Mourinho's pragmatic abilities - but still, when you've got the financial clout of Chelsea you might think they could win games and not play tedious football. Man City can.

...and that's why no-one should give a shit about what he says.

Quite amusing how, now he is not rubbing their tummy, the media is rounding on him when he has been tetchy in pressers.

From a city fan on the BBC
Text us on 81111
Sam: Really hope Pellegrini is watching this. An ability to be compact and defend away from home in big games and we would have won the league by now. Far too naive away from home. Mourinho always has a plan and his players usually execute it well.

have you see the strikers at his disposal?
he may well be able to with decent strikers but yes it is most definitely not in his nature to play attractive flowing gung ho football

it would not be wise to try it against Liverpool IMHO - it did not work for city nor for man U under Moyes 😉

So Liverpool to win 2 or City to win 4?
Chelsea still outsiders with the worst goal difference.

It could still be City's to take, 2 games in hand and I reckon at least 9 points from their final 12. Depends if Palace want to spoil the party in 10 minutes or not...

I just pray it's City that take it now if Liverpool don't.

Oh well...Chelsea came with a plan, executed it perfectly and Liverpool couldn't break them down. It's not like it was a massive surprise. If this is where the title has been lost, hopefully, it'll be City and not Chelsea who profit from it.

Tough game against Crystal Pulis next. Hard to call.

As i said previously, Liverpool were always going to lose this one. But they will win the title.

just come through...
So Liverpool Win and a Draw to beat Chelsea
Man City need to win all 4 really, even winning 3 I reckon Liverpool have enough to finish it.

Jeez...red half of Merseyside looking to blue half to do them a massive favour. 😆 Who'd a thunk it. 🙂

Advantage city?

Goal difference favours them now, tough game against Everton next week, though Everton have gone a little off the boil.

I think Liverpool might struggle against Palace now, nerves and pressure starting to kick in

I have never been so confused in all my life

City or Liverpool or the anti football that is Chelsea

Is there a way for them all to loose 😉

City or Liverpool but I think Pool have played the best football tbh and they would get my vote [ and I am worried about overdosing on [s]schadenfreude[/s] sorry banter Grum if they fail at the final hurdle]

Seriously they do deserve it and it would be so cruel to not do it now but that is the beauty and agony of football

It looks like Everton picked the wrong game to bang in 2 own goals 😀

Liverpool have played the best for the past couple of months, but either side of Christmas city were fantastic. I think city edge it over the season, but then again I am a city fan.

'Twas a good warm up for Wednesday.
Good to know we can rely on the 2nd string should the need arise!

24 years of expectation, it's amazing how dwelling on history can sustain desire for so long, for that plucky Liverpool should be applauded.

Let's not forget, we had no chance at the start, even at Xmas. Delighted to have qualified for the champions league, league would be amazing but priority was the CL.

after years of mediocrity, its lovely to be up there in contention with rich ones, chosen ones and special ones.
I for one will be a happy supporter regardless of the outcome
