The grass in Snowdonia is growing bloody fast.
I'm cutting it every 3 days to keep it looking good and it's amazing how much grass I get.
I'm going away for 6 weeks and don't want it looking awful when I get back.
Is there some kind of growth retarder I could spray on it to keep it looking kind of ok?

Pay a local yoof to cut it while you're away?

A pal of mine runs three golf courses, they use growth retardant on the course which stops upward growth and promotes outward growth, so you get a thicker, lusher lawn that you don't ned to cut very often. I think it's called Primo - I plan to do our lawn in the next couple of weeks.

Get a Football or Rugby team to practice on it, that'll keep it down a bit.. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Every three days is a hell of a SOG setup!

iolo, do you have a local scout group? A small donation may get you a temporary gardener.

I doubt you'd find Primo Maxx to be cost-effective. The problem with it is you still need to control weeds and clear debris that gathers on lawns. I'd only use it on big commercial bankings that are a real hassle to work.

Look up somewhere like landscapeengine and find a business locally that will do a fortnightly cut, then catch up on the twice weekly regime when you get home. You don'#t have to tell them you're going away for 6 weeks; just do it all by email and bank xfer.
