Off to see The Cure next week and we are driving the 2 hours home afterwards so could do with some advice about parking somewhere we can get out easily to the M4 and isn’t miles away to walk.
Thanks!
Get there early and you may be lucky enough to get parking on North Road although tbh it may be closed off. I really wouldn't bother with the St David's multistorey, it gets really clogged up when everyone tries to leave all at the same time.
How about parking at Taff's Well (just off the M4, on the A470)and catching the train in? It's a really good service that only takes about a few minutes that you could very easily spend in the queues trying to leave the city centre carparks. It's what I've done in the past.
There's parking nearby the event but it is very pricey. I don't know if you can pre book. Maybe Parkopedia or similar might be useful.
I'm a bit jealous, I've not seen The Cure in years.
Taffs Well or Radyr train stations are good options depending on what services are running but we normally park in Pontcanna and walk across the bridge - am looking forward to seeing them again next week - it's been a while
I shall investigate those options- they sound good, cheers
Starting to mildly panic, getting out of gigs/ parking one of my big stresses.
I’d normally have booked weeks ago but we had a death in the family 3 weeks ago and it got forgotten.
if we arrive in Cardiff for the day at around 11.00 am would there be normal parking within 30 mins walk.
For the train options, do we get from Cardiff central, and if so is this mental busy or not too bad.
Llandaf train station and train to Cathays, few minutes walk to the gig.
Having originally booked parking near the site, we’ve ditched that because of the road closures. Is parking near the Principality Stadium and walking from there going to work? More importantly will I be able to get out afterwards?
Blimey!
Catch the train.
Loathed to rely on trains. Seems a spectacularly badly thought out venue for a large gig.
I had thought we’d just spend the day in Cardiff so get parked early but it’s 35 degrees c so don’t fancy this.
I think I’ve sussed it, I have booked parking at Coryton station for £10 (1 min from station) the other stations mentioned had bookable parking 15mins away.
Last train from Cathays is 11.30pm, (15 mins walk from gig)
Gig finishes at 10.30
If we miss the train it’s 70 min walk or hopefully grab a cab.
Does this sound sensible? Common sense check welcome.
Also if anyone lives near the gig at Blackweirs and fancies £30 to let me park please say!
